Ub and Vojvodina crowned Serbian Cup winners

Ub, Serbia, March 4, 2020. The teams of Ub and Vojvodina NS Seme emerged victorious from the final stage of the Serbian national cup for women and men, respectively – where Aleksandra Gligoric and Aleksandar Blagojevic received the trophies for the best players of the Finals held in Ub.

The home side of Ub achieved their biggest, historic success by triumphing in the final of the 54th edition of the Serbian Cup. As they played before a sell-out crowd, the hosts defeated Jedinstvo STARA PAZOVA 3-2 (25-15, 24-26, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9), after 126 minutes of play. Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD were the winners of the men’s competition as they recorded a 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-23) victory over Partizan BEOGRAD to secure the trophy for the 15th time in their history.

At the beginning of the medal ceremony, Aleksandra Gligoric of Ub and Aleksandar Blagojevic of Vojvodina NS Seme received the awards for the MVPs of the event. Jelena Nikolic, Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Aleksandar Cortan, Member of the Executive Board of Banka Poštanska Štedionica, General Sponsor of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, presented these coveted awards together with Djula Mester, First Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, and Mr Nenad Ralevic, Member of the Banka Poštanska Štedionica Executive Board.

Darko Glisic, Lord Mayor of Ub, and Zoran Gajic, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, handed over to Ana Maria Mitrovic, team captain of Ub, and Stevan Simic, team captain of Vojvodina NS Seme, the trophies for the winners of the competition.
