Greek Volleyball family join International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Athens, Greece, November 27, 2017. Saturday, November 25 coincided with the annual International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the Hellenic Volleyball Federation shared its core message while hosting matches scheduled for the seventh round of the women’s national league.

As a result, players from all teams involved in the matches took pictures with and signed a banner displaying the script “STOP VIOLENCE against women, break your silence”, thus paying tribute to all women who have had to deal with this problem.

“It was a very nice initiative. Women who have suffered any kind of violence must break their silence and not be afraid to speak. It is an action that everybody has to support,” said Olympiacos PIRAEUS middle blocker, Georgia Lamprousi. “Women who have such a problem should speak openly about it. As long as they keep it inside them, it only gets worse. How much worse would things be if they shared that experience with their relatives?” said the setter of Aris THESSALONIKI, Biljana Gligorović.
